Goosander \Goos"an`der\, n. [OE. gossander, a tautological word
   formed fr. goose + gander. Cf. Merganser.] (Zool.)
   A species of merganser (M. merganser) of Northern Europe
   and America; -- called also merganser, dundiver,
   sawbill, sawneb, shelduck, and sheldrake. See
   Merganser.
