Gynophore \Gyn"o*phore\ (j[i^]n"[-o]*f[=o]r), n. [Gr. gynh`
woman, female + fe`rein to bear, produce: cf. F. gynophore.]
1. (Bot.) The pedicel raising the pistil or ovary above the
stamens, as in the passion flower. --Lindley.
