Jacksnipe \Jack"snipe`\, n. (Zool.)
   (a) A small European snipe (Limnocryptes gallinula); --
       called also judcock, jedcock, juddock, jed, and
       half snipe.
   (b) A small American sandpiper (Tringa maculata); -- called
       also pectoral sandpiper, and grass snipe.
