Karroo \Kar*roo"\ (k[.a]r*r[=oo]"), n.; pl. Karroos
   (k[.a]r*r[=oo]z").
   One of the dry table-lands of South Africa, which often rise
   terracelike to considerable elevations. [Also karoo.]
