Kindred \Kin"dred\, n. [OE. kinrede, kynrede, kunreden (with excrescent d), fr. AS. cynn kin, race + the termination -r[=ae]den, akin to AS. r[=ae]dan to advise, G. rathen. Cf. Hatred.] 1.
