Kirtle \Kir"tle\, n. [OE. kirtel, curtel, AS. cyrtel; skin to
   Icel. kyrtill, Sw. kjortel, Dan. kiortel, kiole.]
   A garment varying in form and use at different times, and
   worn both by men and women.
