Nearsightedness \Near"sight`ed*ness\, n. (Med.)
   An eyesight abnormality resulting from the eye's faulty
   refractive ability, such that one can see only close objects
   distinctly; the condition of being nearsighted. See Myopic,
   and Myopia.

   Syn: myopia, shortsightedness.
