Necrophore \Nec"ro*phore\, n. [Gr. nekro`s a dead body + fe`rein
   to bear.] (Zool.)
   Any one of numerous species of beetles of the genus
   Necrophorus and allied genera; -- called also {burying
   beetle}, carrion beetle, sexton beetle.
