Oppositifolious \Op*pos`i*ti*fo"li*ous\, a. [See Opposite,
   Folious.] (Bot.)
   Placed at the same node with a leaf, but separated from it by
   the whole diameter of the stem; as, an oppositifolious
   peduncle.
