orthogamy \or*thog"a*my\, n. [Ortho- + Gr. ? marriage.] (Bot.)
   Direct fertilization in plants, as when the pollen
   fertilizing the ovules comes from the stamens of the same
   blossom; -- opposed to heterogamy.
