Quartan \Quar"tan\, a. [F. quartain, in fi[`e]vre quartaine, L. quartanus, fr. quartus the fourth. See Quart.] Of or pertaining to the fourth; occurring every fourth day, reckoning inclusively; as, a quartan ague, or fever. [1913 Webster] .
