Viridine \Vir"i*dine\, n. [L. viridis green.] (Chem.)
   A greenish, oily, nitrogenous hydrocarbon, C12H19N7,
   obtained from coal tar, and probably consisting of a mixture
   of several metameric compounds which are higher derivatives
   of the base pyridine.
