Zemni \Zem"ni\, n. (Zool.)
   The blind mole rat (Spalax typhlus), native of Eastern
   Europe and Asia. Its eyes and ears are rudimentary, and its
   fur is soft and brownish, more or less tinged with gray. It
   constructs extensive burrows.
