Bilberry \Bil"ber*ry\, n.; pl. Bilberries. [Cf. Dan.
   b["o]lleb[ae]r bilberry, where b["o]lle is perh. akin to E.
   ball.]
   1. (Bot.) The European whortleberry (Vaccinium myrtillus);
      also, its edible bluish black fruit.
