Bornite \Bor"nite\, n. [Named after Von Born, a mineralogist.]
   (Min.)
   A valuable ore of copper, containing copper, iron, and
   sulphur; -- also called purple copper ore (or
   erubescite), in allusion to the colors shown upon the
   slightly tarnished surface.
