Galactometer \Gal`ac*tom"e*ter\, n. [Gr. ?, ?, milk + -meter:
   cf. F. galactom[`e]tre. Cf. Lactometer.]
   An instrument for ascertaining the quality of milk (i.e., its
   richness in cream) by determining its specific gravity; a
   lactometer.
