Nit \Nit\ (n[i^]t), n. [AS. hnitu; akin to D. neet, G. niss, OHG. niz; cf. Gr. koni`s, koni`dos, Icel. gnit, Sw. gnet, Dan. gnid, Russ. & Pol. gnida, Bohem. hnida, W. nedd.] (Zool.)
