Gelsemium \Gel*se"mium\, n. [NL., fr. It. gelsomino jasmine.]
   1. (Bot.) A genus of climbing plants. The yellow (false)
      jasmine (Gelsemium sempervirens) is a native of the
      Southern United States. It has showy and deliciously
      fragrant flowers.
