Mademoiselle \Ma`de*moi`selle"\, n.; pl. Mesdemoiselles. [F.,
   fr. ma my, f. of mon + demoiselle young lady. See Damsel.]
   1. A French title of courtesy given to a girl or an unmarried
      lady, equivalent to the English Miss. --Goldsmith.
