Gobang \Go*bang"\, n. [Written also goban.] [Jap. goban
   checkerboard, fr. Chino-Jap. go checker + ban board.]
   A Japanese game, played on a checkerboard, in which the
   object of the game is to be the first in placing five pieces,
   or men, in a row in any direction.
