Prognathous \Prog"na*thous\ (pr[o^]g"n[.a]*th[u^]s), a. [Gr.
   pro` before + gna`qos the jaw] (Anat.)
   Having the jaws projecting beyond the upper part of the face;
   -- opposed to orthognathous. See Gnathic index, under
   Gnathic.
